Following her graduation from Lady Sri Ram College, Kumkum Tandon became interested in theater and did stage plays in leading roles while also giving talks and doing plays on radio from 1965 through 1969. In the early 1970s, she did stage plays to collect funds for Mahila Samriti, a social organization for the betterment of the staff of Railways, when her husband was posted in Lucknow in Railways. Starting in the late 1980s and through the early 2000s, Kumkum Tandon worked for Derek O’Brien as a chief coordinator for the entire Western Zone Cadbury Bournvita Quiz Contest. Her role included visiting schools and coordinating and organizing quiz competitions across Maharashtra and Gujarat.
Her husband, late Mr. Dinesh Kumar Tandon, has been associated with YUVA Healthcare from its inception and was most recently appointed as chairman of the group. He was passionate about the project and Kumkum Tandon wants to carry his vision to see this institution make a significant impact in the healthcare of the country by creating highly skilled nurses, technicians and other healthcare workers to meet with the increasing demand of using sophisticated technology in the present day medical facilities.
Given her wide ranging experiences, Kumkum Tandon brings strong organizational and communication skills that will be invaluable in her role as a director of YUVA Healthcare.
